About Compound Lane
Compound Lane is plain-English investing education for people with money at stake — and the math to back it up.
What we do
We explain beginner index investing — index funds, ETFs, 401(k)s, IRAs, compound interest, and fees — in plain language, with every number sourced and every calculation shown. Our promise: "The math behind it, step by step, every number sourced."
Our sourcing standard
Every figure on this site carries a citation to a primary source: fund prospectuses, IRS publications, SEC filings, exchange data. Before anything publishes, every number is re-derived and every claim is checked. We never invent screenshots, balances, or returns. Read our full methodology.
Education, not advice
Everything here is education. We explain how mechanisms work — how a 401(k) match works, how an expense ratio compounds — we never tell you what to buy. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal, and past performance does not guarantee future results. See our disclosure.
